Wootton Upper School
Creating capacity and enhancing hygiene – Washroom upgrade at Wootton Academy
The scope of work was to increase pupil washroom capacity at Wootton Academy in Bedfordshire. This was achieved by adapting four staff washroom facilities by removing internal dividing walls to create a large male and female washroom facility, with added privacy for the pupils. This includes the formation of new door openings, allowing facilities to be accessed from outside during break times, thereby restricting access through the school during these periods.
The full height washroom cubicles have been selected from our compact grade laminate washroom collection in Gris Orange and Gris Perle. These have been complemented with Altro white rock wall hygienic cladding throughout with high clarity stone and concrete vinyl safety flooring designed for high commercial and educational use, as it has enhanced slip and chemical resistance properties.
The wash troughs provide a sleek look ideal for educational settings as these are manufactured from a Corian-type material that has a non-porous and hygienic surface resistant to bacteria and mildew. This allows for easy maintenance due to their smooth, stain-resistant finish and durability, as well as seamless construction and a long lifespan. We highly recommend these in any educational settings as they promote better hygiene by providing more room for handwashing, can be custom manufactured to a space, and help prevent flooding by not filling up, unlike traditional basin.
